The Martin family’s latest adventure was in Florida. We stayed in a town called Spring Hill but visited St. Petersburg to check out the amazing murals we’d heard about. The boyfriend of one of our daughters suggested it and we were excited to check it out! St. Petersburg is a beautiful mural town, on the Gulf Coast in the Tampa area, filled with paintings on nearly every building and artwork throughout. This town is gorgeous!

We only had about an hour to spend so we didn’t get to see everything. Also, what we didn’t know, is that St. Petersburg is known for world-famous museums and a vibrant art community! We could definitely tell it is home to some amazing artists. I wish we’d had time to really check the town out and visit the museums, but this was actually a planned beach day so time was limited!
Our daughter did download an app while we were there that showed the various murals to check out. There were a lot! I got loads of photos in our limited time in St. Petersburg. We definitely plan to go back and make a day out of our visit, in the future.
Check out these photos we got while walking around. They’re not high quality because it was super hot and humid and we were hot tired and moody. So they were walking photos. They still show how pretty it all is though!
Even some of the roadways have artwork on them! The entire town has a modern beach vibe and all the murals have a heartfelt story or meaning to them. I need to look it all up but wanted to go ahead and share our new find with y’all in case you’re into art! Check it out. St. Petersburg Florida
After visiting the town and checking out the beautiful artwork, we made our way to St. Pete Beach for a day of fun in the sun and bouncing in the Gulf Of Mexico waves. The kids and Clay all got sunburned. I managed to stay in the shade of the cabana most of the time and avoid a sunburn. My blood pressure medicine makes me photosensitive so I didn’t get to enjoy the sun and water as much. I’m kind of glad considering how sunburned they all got this year!
St. Pete Beach
After our day at the beach we headed back to our AirBNB and looked at all our pretty pictures. I really want to go back to St. Petersburg and check out the museums, live music and all the incredible artwork!
If you’ve never been to St. Petersburg Florida, I highly recommend a visit. And that’s only based on walking and looking at a few murals and sculptures! I can’t wait to really get in there and tour the city. I plan on doing more research and making a blog post and list of all the things we want to check out while we’re there. I’ll share more, here on the blog, as I discover new attractions, restaurants and lodging in the area.
